You might be looking into all sorts of way of being active, and, in some ways, help others go through the experience of having a loved one in cancer or maybe even being the once having the cancer.

Losing someone to cancer is an experience I would like to help others avoid, if possible. I’m no superwoman, but if anything I do can help, why not. I do prefer to provide donations / support to charities I feel that provide an impact and that financial aid goes as much as possible for the people who needs it the most.

This list will mainly contains links to non-profit organizations located in Canada / Quebec.

HAIR DONATION

  • Quebec hair donation: I was in the process of letting my hair grow quite long for donation, even before mom passed away, and it finally grew long enough a few months later. I’ve decided I should help out locally by donating to this organization… also they provide absolutely free wigs to children with cancer (some orgs require a fee): http://donespoircancer.ca/criteres/
  • U.S. hair donation: Someone I know have also donated hair to this organization, located in the U.S.: http://www.locksoflove.org/
They might also provide wigs to other patients who requires wigs (non-cancer). A simple search on wikipedia provides more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locks_of_Love

Hopefully more links to come.
